Alta Jean D. says, "Very happy with "Happy Pi". She travels to our house which is great for a single , working mom! She is on time and helps us prepare for each lesson. My son loves working with her! It takes a lot of pressure off of me to be mom and teacher. He is in the public school so his time in math at night is supplemental. Over the summer, we are reinforcing fundamentals and preparing for 11th grade and SATs. I highly recommend her!" Read more

I am passionate about teaching. In my career I have taught many students at all levels including middle school, high school , college and graduate level students . More recently , I’ve noticed the increasing need for better home schooling and the important role focused tutoring plays in the development of learning skills that build a strong foundation for lifelong learning . I believe the first and foremost duty of a teacher is to encourage the curious mind and allow for a judgement free mental playground where they feel free to explore and learn the skills to approach any subject or topic with confidence and curiosity and not be held bac

I specialize in supporting students in 6th-8th grade in reading, writing, study skills and oral expression. I tailor each lesson to their individual abilities, goals, and pace. What sets me apart is both my professional expertise and my personal experience. I am a licensed Special Education teacher with 9 years of experience helping students with diverse learning needs. I also understand the journey from a parent's perspective, as I am the mother of a child who has received services through an IEP. This gives me a unique understanding of the challenges families face and the importance of providing patient, compassionate, and effective support
