I'd first get to know the student and their learning style and then we get to the work that is due soonest. I try my best to answer all questions and give the student the best notes possible.

I'm still a student in school, which always helps me connect with other students. Plus, I do ssl hours with two teachers, where I often end up helping their students complete their homework. 

I prefer at least minimum wage, but it really just depends on how long I tutor the student for, the subject, and I'm always happy to negotiate with the parent if needed. 

As I've said, I don't exactly teach, but I started helping other students when I started to visit one of my former teachers on zoom after school and the teacher had to leave her room for a couple minutes so I ended up helping the student instead. Plus, I've always loved school and I love community service.

I've worked with kindergartners when I was a patrol in 5th grade and no now help 7 and 8th graders.

I'm in a youth group organization for Jewish teens called BBYO. It has really helped increase my leadership and communication skills.

Don't only pick someone because of their experience, but also because you connect with them. I personally would be happy to do a free meeting with a student before starting to tutor them to make sure they want my help and I want to help them.

Make sure to know what your question is specifically and not only "I don't understand everything." Also, don't waste a teachers time with questions just for them to not teach you the entire class period.
