Hello! My name is Adam, I'm an Eagle Scout, a multi-instrumentalist, and a Catholic Christian. I was a Cornell Engineering student for two years because I loved math and disliked writing, but then switched into Religious Studies because it turned out I liked college reading and writing more than college math! It is very important to me that students learn to have a sense of victory when they learn, whether they're struggling and need to learn victory, or whether they are already successful and need to channel their potential- this is as true for math, where there are correct answers, as it is in writing, where there are more complete answers...

I am an elementary teacher of 14 years who majored in math. I love working in a smaller group setting with students to help hem meet their individual needs.

I have been in the field of education for the past 7 years. I worked as a paraprofessional for 2 years prior to becoming a special education teacher. I am currently a special education teacher in Billerica and I work with high school students with disabilities. Although I work in a high school setting I have experience with elementary and middle school curriculum.

Every student is an opportunity to learn a new way to teach. Since all learners are different I do my best to be an actively flexible educator and be aware of my student's potential and limitations. The importance of communicative learning is emphasized in my lessons, and in addition to my academic background highlighting English writing, speaking, and grammar, I also continue to develop myself as an educator via conferences and mentors in my field.
