I am a physics professor at a college with a Ph.D. in Physics. For over ten years, I have been tutoring college and high school students in physics and math. I believe active engagement is the most effective way to learn physics and math. My highly interactive teaching approach focuses on hands-on problem-solving and conceptual understanding. I recently graduated from University of Arizona with a major in Electrical and Computer Engineering. I am in second year of med school. I have 4 years of tutoring experience. I was a teaching assistant for 3 years in college and I also helped put at peer tutoring services at my uni.

I aim not to have a student memorize material for the test but to really understand the material and connect it to prior knowledge so that the material makes sense and sticks with them in the long term. I enjoy working with students who are looking to not just learn the material for the test but are looking to really understand the material. I enjoy helping students to see that with a little effort and logic they too can better understand science

I have several years experience working with middle school and high school students with math and physical science (earth science, physics, and chemistry). I've had the most success working one on one on a weekly or every-other week with homework and extra problems to make sure the student stays on top of the concepts and builds confidence in his or her abilities.
