I believe that being a current student allows me to relate to my tutees and use my own experiences to guide and improve my teaching. Something my best teachers have done for me is to show me how to enjoy a challenging subject. As a tutor, I hope to accomplish the same for my tutees. Even if something is challenging, it can still be enjoyable, fun even. Learning to enjoy what is hard is just as important as learning the material itself.

I teach English, Writing, Music (instrumental and vocal), Theater, Art, and History grades 1 through 12. I was a certified English, History and Fine Arts teacher in Massachusetts for over 30 years teaching in public school, private school for behavior challenged students and Performing Arts Schools. As a college writing instructor, I focused on critical, academic essay writing and more creative approaches to standard essays. Additionally, I hold a B.A. in English writing from DePauw University, and have over a decade of experience writing in professional settings, from advertising to in-house communications.
