Since 1996, I have been working with children and adolescents, all of whom come from very diverse learning abilities, helping them develop their love for literature; strengthening how they communicate, be it orally or with the written form; inspiring and supporting them as they pursue post-secondary education and maintaining close communication and even friendships as they ventured off into the world of work. I currently am an instruction assistant at adams elementary school.. I work with essential skills for kids ranging from kindergarten to third grade. I assist with all subjects and help build structure and organization in their everyday routine. I have also had experience teaching my own classroom in Istanbul, Turkey at a private tutoring school for English as second language ranging from age six to about seventeen.

One of my greatest strengths as an educator is meeting each student’s unique needs by developing a personal understanding of each one of them. I am able to achieve this by seeing and assessing my students as individuals and tailoring lesson plans to accommodate multiple intelligences. Furthermore, I ensure that I utilize innovative strategies to introduce new concepts, establish a connection between the classroom and everyday life, and foster an engaging learning atmosphere. I love to teach and am excited to tutor students outside of school as well! I currently work as a 5th grade teacher, and teach an efter school reading program as well.
