Jaclyn is a great person. You can tell she really cares about her students and takes proactive steps to communicate as needed with parents outside the sessions with the student. I trust her insights and approach to individual instruction needs. We used her service for test prep (HS selective enrollment in Chicago) and will sign up for help with college admissions in the future.

The COVID lockdowns of our public schools, spanning two academic school years, severely impacted our son. He lost interest in everything except video games. His sense of apathy turned into a strong trait of learned helplessness. Disciplinary incidents were always someone elses fault. Every adversity was another reason to give up.
Ms. DiDomenico agreed to take on a very tough case with our son. She patiently introduced him to the principles of the Growth Mindset. She made subtle and consistent suggestions to introduce him to the concept of personal accountability.
Working with Ms. DiDomenico, his grades steadily improved. More importantly, he developed his own goals. We were beyond surprised (shocked, actually) when he announced that he had identified a new school, applied, and went through multiple rounds of interviews on his own!
He is now studying abroad on a full scholarship.

Jackie is an amazing person. She has worked with my children for years and has helped them tremendously. She has a way of connecting with them and helping them understand their materials that is exceptional. As a result of their working with Jackie both my children are now straight A students.

Jackie has been great to work with over the last 3 years. She tailors her sessions to meet Delias needs and is always prepared. She is able to change session times to best meet test schedules, which is super helpful.

We love working with Level Up Learning...and particularly with Jackie! We have been with Jackie for years and we have seen such growth with our sons learning, education and test taking. His math skills have improved dramatically - it is like night and day. Jackie is patient, hard-working and always available to collaborate on the best approach for the child. We couldnt be happier. Highly recommend.

I have two daughters with very different learning profiles -- one is autistic and the other is neurotypical -- and each benefitted tremendously from working with Jackie. Her teaching skills are truly exceptional. She has a knack for connecting with kids and making the learning process fun and engaging. (One of my daughters once said, I think Miss Jackie has some kind of magic. She makes you WANT to work hard!) My kids worked with her in math and language arts, and both in-person and remotely -- we had a uniformly terrific experience. Jackie would be the first person I called if I needed a tutor!

    Frequently asked questions

I like to take some time at the beginning of our time together to ask the students questions and spend time getting to know them, as well as give them the opportunity to ask me any questions they have. Depending on the goal of our tutoring sessions, I will give an initial diagnostic screening to get a good understanding of the student's current skill levels.

    Elementary School: 5th grade and below - $100/hour Middle School: 6th grade - 8th grade - $110/hour High School: 9th grade - 12th grade - $120/hour Special Education Students - add $10/hour to any tier
I was recruited by Teach For America during my undergraduate years at the University of Chicago. I taught high school and middle school with Teach For America as a special educator for two years in the South Bronx, NY.
I have experience working with students of all ages, at all ability levels, all backgrounds, and in all subjects: - Kindergarten through 12th grade - Special education students in the poorest congressional district in the nation to gifted students at some of the most elite private schools in Manhattan - Math, science, history, reading, writing, college admissions
A student I have been working with since 7th grade (6 years now because of learning challenges) is currently getting straight A's and just got into his number one choice for college. It is bittersweet - I am sad our time together will be ending soon but I am so proud of him.
I would tell students that everyone struggles from time to time, and it is actually a strength (not a weakness) to ask for help.
Before asking for help, students should ask themselves if they have put forth their best effort and used all of the resources they have available to support them. If students have used all of their available resources and are still struggling, talking to a teacher for additional support and developing a plan together is a fantastic idea.
