Vanessa L. says, "Andrea truly sees what our son needs help with, even if he has not figured out or articulated where he is needing help. She takes the time and care to observe and is adept at determining where their energy and focus is best spent. Whether that is drilling into the details of budgeting in math class, practicing presentation skills for his next project, or structuring his writing, she is able to flex her approach to meet him where he is, and help him to grow. She is such a positive force in his student life! Andrea truly cares and that makes such a huge impact on our son and on our family." Read more

I’m a former high school English teacher with experience in special needs education. During my retirement (June 2012) I have tutored one on one, volunteered at elementary and middle school and worked with college level students adjusting to a new curriculum. My volunteer experience gave me new insight into the early years of academic learning and the various methods may need to be explored to help students learn successfully. I have a Masters degree in Education and I take piano lessons and foreign language courses for recreation.

Japjeev is the first tutor that my son went to, she was a catalyst in motivating him in becoming independent at "try first and then ask for help". She connected well with him and helped him with his after school homework assignments as well as critiquing his writings. I highly recommend her to 7th grade Math students who need help in their daily school assignments.

We have done virtual, face to face and group. She has been engaged and loved all of them. She looks forward to each class.
