I have been an on-line elementary teacher for seven years in kindergarten, first grade and third grade. I homeschooled my twin sons during their middle school years. Tutoring elementary-aged students in reading and math for the last four years has been so much fun! I love helping kids have those "light bulb" moments! As a current college student at Boise State University with 5 years of tutoring experience, all K-12 material is still quite relevant to me. I have worked with a variety of ages, from middle school all the way to freshmen in college. I want to get to know each student individually as well as get to know their personal goals. When I tutor my students I try to utilize examples that each student can relate to, such as rounding numbers using a balloon. I also teach through questions, this way I can see what students do know and what area needs specific help.
