Prior to starting online tutoring this year, I did in person tutoring for 5 semesters at my university. I’m a graduating senior in Actuarial Science and Mathematics which allows me to see the derivations and applications sides of mathematics.

My name is Ryan Freidhoff. I am currently finishing my senior year of highschool. I studied mathematics and Physics at Harvard when I was 17, I am studying math now at Drake University, I have about one year of experience working with kids from elementary age to highschool. I love tutoring, and I love helping others learn!

Instead of providing standard teaching sessions, I prefer to tailor the content of the class to the needs of individual student. I have 20 years of tutoring and 15 years of teaching (in high schools) experience. Helping students learn math and gain mathmematical reasoning skill is an achievement for me.

Numbers have also been my strong suit. I get that that's not the case for many people today, and do my teaching based on the level in which you have an understanding... then progress that knowledge from there. My methods are basic and common though quite easy to remember once having a grasp on them. I just want others to be able to see this world of numbers in the same light as I do. It drives me when I get the chance to better improve someone in their own mind. Math is such a vital tool in the society we live in today, and I just want to help others see that like I've been blessed to have been able to see....

I am currenlty employed as a licensed Professional Engineer in the state of Minnesota and have worked as a structural engineer now for 5 years. I hold a BS in Civil Engineering and a MS in Civil Engineering with a structural background from the University of Iowa that I attended from 2012-2017 on scholarship as a football player. The extent of my mathematics background extends through Differential Equations and I am looking to give back to the community by helping children, teens, and young adults in need of math tutoring....
