My business stands out because I focus on grades K-5. I only support these grades as to keep my focus and attention on the foundamental and basic stages that are very important to children as they grow and learn. I also help with classroom etiquette, and open environment behaviors. I know each child shines his/her own bright light, I support their energy to do so. I assist in all elementary grade subjects, also science projects, and presentations or speeches they need help with conquering. Children hold special gifts and we have to breathe life into them so they are confident in what they know. I help them with my techniques and friendly disposition that allows them freedom to express their desire to learn and or passion to gain more in a certain area. I respect them at their age and am confident in their abilities.
I enjoy serving. I take on a servant spirit where my giving is priceless because the joy comes when a child succeeds. In every session, is a new palette for a child to be successful and it is a wonderful thing when a child lights up after conquering a problem or making it to the very end of his/her speech without looking at the paper! Learning life skills and Education are major parts of my life!

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
My typical process starts with an introduction email that includes a packet that explains what I offer and how I operate. If parents are interested, I schedule a meet and greet with family. From that point we establish a schedule that works best for the child.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have 4 years of experience in the Eduational environment. The majority of my background and experience comes from the Business environment. I hold a BBA in Computer Information Systems, and my MBA. I currently work in Municipal Government where I am constantly training and gaining knowledge in administration, clerical, planning, and legislative departments. I also hold a Medical Billing and Coding Diploma.

How did you get started teaching?
I started in teaching as a substitute and from there became a supply teacher.
What types of students have you worked with?
Currently I have been instructing special needs for foundamentals, and helping another getting up to speed in math and public speaking. Both students have been long term shining stars
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
I have many fond evets. I like when my students have been working hard and they reach their goals. I have a student that relies heavily on repetition and we have to take our time and complete on agenda. When she can regurgitate what we went over, I am overjoyed because I know she is working hard to retain the information. I do not allow her to focus on limitations that have been placed on her.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Make sure your are comfortable with your teacher. There needs to be a connection and you need to feel relaxed with sharing your your goals, strengths and what you feel your weaknesses may be. In turn the dialog between student and teacher should flow on a level of complete understanding. If you do not feel this with your teacher, please let your parents know and another approach or teacher can be provided.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
Where is the need for support? How does it make the student feel? What goal does the student want to meet? How does the student learn the best; visual, repetition, audio, verbal, etc.?
