Hi! I’m Alister, an engineering student at Stanford University. I tutor math (grade K-12), physics & chemistry (high school), and language arts (grade K-8). I have four years of experience and love working with students to solidify understanding—once students truly grasp concepts, I find they start to really enjoy the subject. My tutoring style is flexible based on the students’ need.

I'm a MIT and University of Chicago graduate. I have years of tutoring experience, working for big names like Kaplan and NEXT. I have helped dozens of students with the SAT, GRE, GMAT, LSAT, English and general math skills. I also help improve writing skills. My students have gone to top schools.

I have 21 years experience teaching in excellent public schools. I have also tutored extensively in English grammar and writing. Students have told me that they enjoy my teaching style. I get a great deal of satisfaction in working with students trying to achieve verbal and written mastery of English.

I believe that the process of learning should be fun for both the student and the teacher, since if either party doesn't enjoy the lessons, there will be no effect. This is why I've chosen online tutoring in general, because it's easier to have more effective lessons one on one. I'm also an international physics olympiad winner, which comes with a lot of learning on my part as well, so I can confidently say I know the process well. Teaching gives me a special kind of satisfaction. Knowing that you've helped someone gain knowledge and understand something new is a really wonderful feeling....

As a current English Teacher with 12+ years of tutoring experience, all 6-12 material is still quite relevant and fresh in my mind. I have worked with a variety of ages, from sixth grade all the way to seniors in high school. I get to know each student individually as well as get to know their personal goals. I will provide quick, concise responses for those in a hurry, and slow, methodic teaching for those looking to understand the material on a deeper level. I welcome parent feedback and will alter my methods based on parental goals as well.

I am a soon to be 20 year old student at Boston University. As a screenwriting major and English minor, I have an adoration for both learning and teaching writing, particularly to lower/middle school students. From my work being chosen for BU's "Palimpsest", an online publication that highlights outstanding undergraduate writing", and my position on the Dean's list, my affinity for language is one that translates to success.
