As a tenured Chemist and Engineer, I've always had a passion to help students of all ages and levels grasp the fundamentals of chemistry. I firmly believe that a good instructor makes all the difference in the world! I also enjoy showing people that it's usually not as complicated as people think.

I have a passion for teaching and I'm able to develop a strong relationship with my students enabling them to communicate where they struggle or where they need more rigor in order to ensure each student's success. I love to teach students in many different subjects and see their strengths emerge. I have 25 years of tutoring and teaching experience in science and math and language arts from preschool to adult.

I have been tutoring and mentoring middle and high school as well as college students for over 10 years, both as a private tutor for academic subjects as well as an employee of an SAT prep company. I am returning to California after a pause in my recent PhD work, and will be resuming active tutoring after a hiatus. I spent 2018-2019 abroad in London where I earned my MSc as a Fulbright alternate. I will be available during the chaotic college application season, and am keen to assist students (and parents!) looking to navigate the SAT, ACT, college selection and application process.
