Bella's Academic Support
About
My name is Bella, and I am currently earning my Bachelor's degree in Special Education. I have over three years of experience working with young adults and children with diverse and unique learning needs. I currently work in an elementary functional communication classroom, where I support students in building meaningful communication, independence, and foundational academic skills.
For the past two years, I have also provided home-bound tutoring for students transitioning back into the school setting. During this time, I’ve partnered closely with families, therapists, and school staff to create individualized learning plans and offer consistent academic and emotional support.
My experience includes:
-Supporting students in using AAC devices and PECS communication systems
-Teaching basic functional ASL (American Sign Language)
-Establishing and maintaining daily routines and structured learning environments
-Providing functional academic instruction tailored to each student’s needs
-Collaborating with families and school teams to address goals, concerns, and progress
I believe that every student can learn and succeed when they are given patience, the right tools, and someone who believes in their abilities. My goal is to provide a safe, encouraging, and structured space where students feel supported, confident, and capable.
