She quickly adapts to my preferred speed of learning and will go over a subject as may times as necessary (with me that can be a lot) with the patients of an angel!! She is very kind, knowledgeable, and funny. I will continue to utilize Susan as a resource for both myself and my children, as well as refer her out to anyone I know is in need. Connor S. says, "I am a senior at Kentwood High School. I started tutoring with Jogeshwar last year. He has been helping me with Calculas and AP physics. Jogeshwar is a wonderful tutor who focuses on your weakness in your subject and fundamentals. Right now we are working ahead of my class which gives me more time to prepare. He is super patient and does not rush through any concept. He is also helping to get ready for collage in advance so I can hit the ground running." Read more

Oh my! I had almost finished this part of my profile and I left for 10 min and it was gone. I have been tutoring for over 22 years and I still love it. I have many specialties so I will put them on by bullet point for now, so I can get this done before it disappears again. • I tutor every subject taught in grades K-8 •I tutor everything except math and foreign languages in 9-12 grades. Morgan R. says, "John is the best!! He was so insanely helpful with the material and very patient with concepts I struggled with. He was able to put it in ways that were clear and easy for me to understand. He was very well prepared and if he didn’t have an immediate answer to something, he knew where to go to figure it out and how to problem solve. Best tutor ever!" Read more

We hired Susan to help our daughter Caidyn with Geometry. Susan made her feel comfortable and worked hard to make sure she understood her lessons. Susan was flexible with her time when Caidyn needed extra help to get through her work. Caidyn's grade went up significantly because of the help she got. If we need help again in the future, we will definitely hire Susan.

My situation was unique. I had serious epileptic seizures during high school resulting in multiple brain surgeries and a long, challenging recovery. Matt entered my life during this time; I still had assignments to complete before graduation and an impending SAT exam, so I met with Matt twice a week and learned the essential concepts of writing and reading comprehension. While math was my strong suit, Matt helped me identify some earlier math concepts that needed refreshing. My initial SAT score prior to my relationship with Matt was 1260, but, after tutoring, I received a 1510 and was accepted by my school of choice for pre-med studies. I continue to meet with Matt two or three times per week during my undergraduate studies for more advanced writing strategies. I cannot imagine a better academic mentor than I have found with Matt.

Kate is a dedicated educator and I cannot recommend her highly enough! She has been tutoring my second grader in both reading and math for several months and her tailored approach has significantly improved his skills and confidence in each subject. Kate fosters a positive learning environment, making the sessions enjoyable for my son while still remaining focused on achieving academic progress. I am truly grateful for the impact she has made on my child’s education!

“For every five youngsters in the hill, four were dealers. Heaven knows how they got it, but they did.” -Harold Moss The war on Drugs is something widely known, but it the streets of Tacoma, it was like a whole new world. Having the chance to travel to someplace new, abundant with history was incredible. It opened my eyes to events that I would never dream of. Marijuana seems to be a very commonly used substance theses days, and many people make a big deal about it, but if you think smokin' reefer is bad, think about this. You're sitting in your apartment one afternoon when BOOM! The explosion sends you sprinting to see what happened. Later, on the evening news, you hear that the explosion was from a meth lab. The careless chemists over heated the chemicals. Meth and heroin seemed to be the most popular drugs an Tacoma in the 80's and 90's. The thought of 10-14 year olds selling, buying, and even using these substances is chilling. However, these horrific events seemed to turn the city of the Hilltop into a strong one.

Sandie was so patient and made our lessons a lot of fun, as well as practical. I got to decide what we would be working on and even got to choose what some of my homework would be. She always found a way to make everything I did more interesting. I am now excelling in all of my classes, and my parents are really happy.
