I taught formally at a high school for 6 years (everything from Math 3 to AP BC Calculus to CE Statistics). During my time teaching in Ogden at a Title I school, my AP Calc program tripled in size and we increased the pass rate to 90% (well above the national and Utah averages). I am so proud of them! Hi! I'm Sydne, a BYU student studying Applied Mathematics, and let me tell you- I know what it's like to feel discouraged about math! For a student who is behind in class or not quite getting it, they may start to believe that math is "not fun" or that they are "just bad at it". I'm here to help students get AHEAD in their math class so that learning math will be relaxed and fun rather than frantic. I focus on drilling concepts with many examples. My goal is to help students understand how to approach these problems, and how to THINK THROUGH them in ways that will strengthen them in every aspect of learning for the rest of their lives.
