About

I will have the ability to communicate in English, Mandarin and Cantonese, as well as a few other smaller village dialects. I always have a smile on my face and love children, which allows me to be successful at my current job of working with Special Education children at Bloomington Hills Elementary School. I also possess a Math Teaching Certificate from China for Elementary Education Students. I've been working for the Washington County School District for 4 years and during my second year was awarded the Outstanding Faculty Staff Member award from the Regional Parent Teacher Association.

I love children and have raised one of my own that is currently completing his PhD at MIT. Watching the smiles on childrens faces when the realize they understand a new learned ability it warms my heart. I've always had a very soft heart towards children.

    Frequently asked questions

I will begin by attempting to get the student to feel comfortable and relaxed so learning can begin. I will introduce myself and explain my interests and hobbies, then ask the student about his/her interests. Once the student feels more at ease, I will ask about specific areas where the student may feel they need more work and begin a lesson aimed at that particular need.

I currently work for Washington County School District as a Special Education Paraprofessional (Severe); I have had pedagogical psychology training in China.

$25 per hour, if two hours are scheduled, $45 for two hours.

I began as a summer program part-time elementary math teacher in Guangzhou Guangdong China.

Regular Elementary Students needing to improve their math and Chinese speaking skills. Currently I work with special education students.

Kayaking at Kolob Reservoir, while it has nothing to do with teaching, a conversation about Kayaking could be an excellent ice breaker with a new student.

Find an Instructor with whom you are comfortable and feel you can ask questions at any time. One who genuinely is concerned with my developing skills and abilities. One that can provide interesting and occasional fun lessons to maintain interest.

The students should consider where they will require the most work and if they truly are committed to learning. The student should write down several questions they can use to interview their prospective tutor. Be sure they are comfortable with the Tutor and feel they can learn from them.
