Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
We'll play a get-to-know-you game for about 5 minutes to warm up and feel comfortable. Then I will ask about what they learned in school today, what their successes were, and what their challenges were. I will then help students work through their challenges. We can do homework or practice problems until they feel like they understand the concept. I will then check for understanding with a few questions or problems. Then I will ask the students to show me their successes and why they're proud of them.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am certified to teach K-8 in the states of Utah and Idaho. I have taught for 4 years in public schools.
