Free Initial Consultation is available for any new client so we can discuss the family's goals, concerns, desired outcomes.
Free reading assessment can also be included if based on the needs and focus that they are interested in.
By the end of the first session, we will have an idea of what skills they've mastered, approximate reading level, and establish good goals for future sessions that target the areas that need to be strengthened.
By the end of the initial consultation, the family and I will be able to determine confidently if we are the best fit for their goals and timeframe.

How did you get started teaching?
I always wanted to be a teacher!
My dad even knew I was going to be a teacher when I would come home from kindergarten and would share about "How I would set up the classroom differently" or "How I would give up time on the playground to help classmates learn reading/math/spelling skills"
I started teaching in 2004 - I taught kindergarten for 7 years, then took the Special Education Inclusion Facilitator position for a little over 3 years before diving in to learn ALL I COULD while providing dyslexia therapy to elementary age children.
What types of students have you worked with?
Early Childhood - 6th grade
My specialization would be Early Childhood - 2nd grade where the focus is that "learning to read" phase.
I have worked with children with ALL Abilities, children in danger of reading failure, children with dyslexia (identified or not), and children with a variety of learning differences from Specific Learning Disabilities, ADHD, Dysgraphia, and children that have lack opportunities or consistency due to absences, quarantine, military relocation, traveling, etc.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
In addition to tutoring, intervention, or dyslexia therapy - I love doing literacy and community outreach events.
I am most proud of my recent "Polar Express Literacy Workshop" where we are able to practice skills like sound articulation, phonemic awareness, vocabulary discovery, story elements as well as sharing the MAGIC of literacy and books.
