My name is Mr. Martin, and I'm an English Language Arts teacher specializing in grades 6th through 12th. Currently, I teach AP English II at an Early College HS in Dallas, TX. I also work at Collin College as a writing consultant, helping students at all stages of the writing process — from pre-writing to final drafts in MLA and APA. Moreover, the love of words is my memo; but, if you keep in step with me, it will be like playing on Nintendo. In my class, students soar from chapter to chapter, and you will too.

I am a dynamic English Language and Test Prep specialist with a decade of teaching and tutoring experience with students of all ages. I am TEFL/TESOL certified, have a bachelor's in political science from Georgetown University and a Master's in Education from University College London. My forte is helping students understand their strengths and areas of growth through targeted Interventions in order to prepare them for whatever learning challenge they are facing. I promote critical thinking, build confidence and show students how to become drivers of their own learning.

In my 24th year of teaching, I have been blessed to have worked with so many kiddos spanning 4 different countries. I love literature and the writing process and all things English. I struggled terribly in school but found a ton of hidden gems in learning once I came to understand the power of education, and I still thirst for any opportunity to help someone find their true potential!
