You can talk to her about any subject and she has her answer and if she does not have it, she will look for it.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
We will have a consultation to see what areas you are struggling with in English. One question I will ask is, "What task are you putting off because you have to speak English to do it?"
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
TESOL Certified
BS Mechanical EngineeringDo you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
I charge by the hour and bill monthly.
How did you get started teaching?
I volunteered with a local ESL program to help with book inventory and sales spreadsheets, little did I know that it would turn into a love for welcoming and teaching professionals from all over the world.
What types of students have you worked with?
I think a teacher has to have experience with all types to find their passion. My favorite students have been mothers who have relocated to the US without the language opportunities that the rest of the family is immersed in daily.
My experience has taken me from a beginner 4-year-old and adult to an advanced professional who wanted to be able to discuss cultural identity and beliefs with their coworkers.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
Today during a lesson a student described herself as 'poor in English'. I suggested that she start using 'an English learner' instead. As a former teacher, she said she would never let her students describe themselves or their Math skills like that.
Mindset is a huge part of using a new language plus her skills have improved.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Look for someone that you connect with. You should spend a lot of time talking with this person and be comfortable with them.
Your goal is to use English in your everyday life, you should be talking about your family, your school, your work, and your weekend.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
Rate your need in listening, speaking, reading, and writing and then your skill in each area. If your need for writing is minimal, work on something else.
What does fluent mean to you? Talk with people in your community or take college classes. Having the highest level of English proficiency may not be what you need.
