Back 'in the day' I was an A student in mathmatics. In college I did 4 semesters of calclus plus other mathmatical courses (but that was a long time ago). I worked in electrical engineer for many years and then was in publishing. I have always felt that the reasons for the problems many students have with calculus is due to the lack of a firm foundation in Algebra an trigonometry and I would like, primarily to address this deficit.

Hi, my name is Sofia. Fun fact: I love to travel. Chicago is my favorite destination! I also love working with students. The most rewarding part of tutoring for me is when a new concept “clicks” with a student - their excitement is contagious, and it’s a privilege to be able to help them reach that point! I partner with students on a one-on-one basis in STEM subjects through SoFlo Tutors, my tutoring agency. I graduated from Texas A&M University with a degree in Computer Engineering and have been tutoring with SoFlo for two years. Math and Science tend to build on themselves, so our methodology is to identify gaps in a student’s knowledge o

With the knowledge of secondary school and college level mathematics still fresh in my head. I have worked variety from 7th graders to college level sophomores. I will get to know the students weakness and strengths and help them focus on their om what they are weak while still learning on what they are strong at. My methods vary as some students may be quick to pick up information, while some students may need more time on the subject. My goal is to make sure the students understand the material and feel confident in themselves

I am excited to help my students with school, I know how helpful it can be to have someone to provide a second pair of eyes to help with school work. Concepts in school can be really hard and I am a hardworking patient tutor more than willing to take as much time as needed to help students grasp concepts. I was a tutor in high school from my sophomore year to my Senior year. I graduated 52 out of 900 students with a 3.97 GPA from the Science and Engineering Academy at John Jay High School in San Antonio. I was on the High School Debate team and was a state debate competition participant. I am a Texas A & M student focusing on getting more wo

As a current college student in my junior year, all K-12 material is still quite relevant and fresh in my mind. I will get to know each student individually as well as get to know their personal goals. I will provide quick, concise responses for those in a hurry, and slow, methodic teaching for those looking to understand the material on a deeper level. I welcome parent feedback and will alter my methods based on parental goals as well.
