Hi My name is Anna Leo and I am looking to tutoring young children in elementary school about public speaking. I am an upcoming junior at Uplift North Hills Preparatory with an interest in exploring a degree in medicine or economics. I have learned speech skills from the DFW Speech and Debate Academy. During my time there, I have won multiple awards in Platform speaking, Open Interpretation, Constitutional Literacy, and Team Policy Debate. I have received scholarship money through my awards in platform speaking. I am also a champion in speech throughout the Dallas-Oklahoma Church level. I am passionate about teaching kids about how to become confident in who they are through speaking. Growing up, I was known as a very quiet child but through public speaking, I found my voice. I am interested in offering 1 hour one on one classes where I teach your child about the types of public speaking and then help them craft their own speeches.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I will meet with your child and start of by asking them to give me a quick impromptu speech. I will judge their skillset and then cater the lessons to them. For instance, a newcomer to speech will first need to learn about the various types of speech before. However, someone with good experience but a lack of clarity in planning will need more help with speech templates.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I was trained in the DFW Speech and Debate Academy and have won multiple awards under their tutelage.

5 Dollars per Hour. I am not trying to generate money, but just want to spread my passion during a time when many children are sitting at home.
How did you get started teaching?
I have always had a passion for teaching kids since I was able to come out of my shell through speech and debate.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
I understand how to work with kids and know the mechanisms needed to help them become more confident.
