I am a former Biologist (BS and MS in Biology) that has been teaching science for the past 17 years. I am also certified in special education. I am extremely passionate about both teaching and the field of science. I build close relationships with students and have been highly successful in the field. I am a National Board Certified Teacher and have won multiple education awards.

I absolutely love both teaching whole classes and tutoring small groups or individuals. I love the science field and want students to feel successful so that they can find love (or at least enjoy) their science classes.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?

I like to get some basic information about the student before our first meeting. This is so that I can already be familar with the student before we get started. It helps in building the relationship. I then will have he/she talk about their current position in the class to get a feel on the best approach to take to help the student master the material.
