About this tutor

I am an educator with 7 years of teaching experience, specifically teaching AP Chemistry and general introductory Chemistry with a mastery of teaching SAT Math and various science courses. I have a high passing rate amongst my AP level students so I have wide experience in all levels of chemistry even up to the university level. I will accomodate to the needs of the student regardless of what is required. I have materials that are related to the subject and extensive mastery of everything related to chemistry and mathematics as well. Each session is unique and tailored to the students level of understanding.

I have been tutoring since I was completing my undergrad degree and have always enjoyed surprising the student with what they can actually achieve if they look at things a different way. Getting that lightbulb to turn on in your head is every educators desire and I am no different, so I love to show students that despite the apparent difficulty, they can actually achieve understanding and get this material that seems impossible at first. Everyone has the potential to understand everything, for some it takes a short of amount of time and for others a little bit longer, but the point is that understanding can be obtained with the proper tools. I enjoy showing my students how to use specific tools to achieve understanding in chemistry and math using innovative approaches. That is where I am different.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?

I typically want to see the students level to assess what amount of work is required and how to best to approach the challenge.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

I graduated Summa Cumma Laude with a Biology degree and a minor in Chemistry.

Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.

It just depends on the student. If there is a longer session scheduled then the pricing changes, but it all dependents upon the needs of each student in terms of how many sessions and the lenght of the sessions.

How did you get started teaching?

I started teaching in a gap year between my undergrad and medical school. I chose not to attend medical school as I was happy teaching with a proper level of engagement and as well as the free time to travel around the world.

What types of students have you worked with?

Ive worked with students of all levels from 7th-12th grade as well tutored university level students. Everything from basic chemistry to upper level chemistry as well as mathematics.

Describe a recent event you are fond of.

All of my travels, and my recent travel to Austria.

What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?

We will find what works for you as a student, but just be ready to put in the work outside of our sessions for a proper improvement.

What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?

Just what they are currently working on and what they need help with and what their end goal is. However, all of this information is best done by communicating with the teacher, so I am open to all levels of communication.
