About
I tutor SAT and ACT prep giving my subject matter tutoring students an advantage as I can point out concepts that are on college entrance exams. I also help students with writing college admissions essays. In addition, I tutor GED and high school entrance exams prep.
Regarding academic subjects, I tutor English grammar & writing. My specialty is helping with essay writing. Students may learn English in school, but they are not learning the fine art of writing. I also tutor biology, chemistry, microeconomics, macroeconomics, Algebra I & II, geometry, trigonometry, French I & II, American History, American Government/civics and social studies.
I have a BA in Economics from UCSan Diego and a master's degree in Healthcare Services Management & Policy from George Washington University from which I received a partial scholarship.
I get personally involved with many students who look to me as a role model. I often help with college applications and other non-academic matters.

How did you get started teaching?
I have always been a good student and have tutored throughout my academic career. Students tell me that I explain concepts well. I decided to turn this into a business - and love helping people!
What types of students have you worked with?
Many students have disabilities such as dyslexia or ADD. I am patient and effective in helping them improve academically.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
A student with autism that I tutored for five years just enrolled in UC Davis. He overcame severe learning disabilities to do so with my help.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Select a tutor with whom you connect on a personal level. Tutoring is more than merely academics.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
Ask yourself if you are applying yourself before relying on a tutor to help you. Students who think for themselves perform better in school.
