I have had the pleasure of tutoring introductory, AP, and advanced college level Physics and Mathematics courses for more than 5 years. Besides holding a B.S. in Physics and my College Reading and Learning Association certification in tutoring, I have also helped many students as a Teaching Assistant in Physics.

I enjoy helping students figure out the problem-solving process by breaking it down into bite-sized steps. Sometimes developing a process, asking the right questions, or looking at a problem in a different way and can lead to the high level conceptual connections that are so valuable. I tutor for these moments and believe these are what make it worth it. I currently hold a B.S. in Physics, provide strong study practices and strategies as an honors MD student, and have over 5 years of experience tutoring in Physics and Math.

I had Nathan as a tutor for Physics and Calculus in college and he saved my butt! Very patient and works things through with you, definitely helped me break things down and understand the connections.

    Frequently asked questions

First, we talk through what we want to get out of tutoring, what are some struggle/weak points, if there is anything I can do that has been helpful in the past. Also are there any tests, deadlines, or timelines we need to aim for? Are there any resources we need to get together? Then we talk about how often we want to meet and what that might look like. Establishing mutual expectations and responsibilities is important!

I hold my B.S. in Physics and am now attending graduate school studying medicine. I have over 5 years of tutoring in primarily college Physics and AP Physics but also in Calculus, Organic Chemistry, as well as others. I also have my CLRA certification in tutoring.

Generally, I meet with tutees on a weekly basis and help them through areas of struggle, usually by going through examples from their classes and coming up with a way to approach various problem types. I generally charge $50/hr for one-hour sessions or $40/hr for two-hour sessions. For tutoring over a distance, my tutees often find the Venmo app a simple and convenient way to pay for sessions. I often tutor over Zoom or video based platforms.

The one thing I would ask is for flexibility in timing, as I am a student as well and understand that some weeks may be more overwhelming than others. I will, of course, try to give advance notice if I can't make it for a regular weekly session and offer an opportunity to 'make it up' at another time. I ask that my tutees also show me the same consideration by letting me know in advance if they won't be able to make a session.
