About
I believe in appreciating the joy and humor in all things, even when we're faced with challenges and frustrations. I care deeply about making education enriching and accessible. As a stand-up and improv comedy performer, I try to make sessions something students can look forward to!
There's nothing better than when a student has that "got it!" moment!

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
When beginning work with a student, I take the time to get to know who they are, what goals they have, what goals they didn't know they had, what brings them joy. No matter the subject, it's important to me to feel like we understand each other and our aims. We lay out long term and short term objectives and get going on our game plan!
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a BA from Pitzer College. I majored in Media Studies and minored in American Studies. I've worked with students in several capacities, through tutoring, college essay counseling, and in admissions. I also researched high school mental health and social media patterns for my Senior capstone. I also worked with kids aged 6-12 for 5 years as Head Counselor at Wohelo Camps.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
My rate is 25$ an hour, but is negotiable!
How did you get started teaching?
I began teaching when I finished the college process and wanted to assist others in their path to college, which can often be an unfair process with many barriers. I care deeply about helping others tread their academic path with excitement and confidence.
What types of students have you worked with?
I've worked with students from elementary school all the way to high school, with many different learning styles and objectives!
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Look for someone who is genuinely invested in your own growth!
