About

I'm passionate about forming a connection with my students so that they feel comfortable enough to ask me for help in whatever they are struggling with. In order for tutoring to be successful, the student has to be vulnerable enough to ask for help, which is why I feel establishing a judgement-free zone from the very first meeting is most important.

I always enjoy the breakthrough moment that students have whenever a concept finally clicks. Those moments are so encouraging for both the student and the teacher, because it lets me know that I'm doing my job right and that my student is making progress.

    Frequently asked questions

I like to meet them in person to get a feel for where they are in the subjevt, why they feel they need help, and to understand their learning style. It's important to me to have a comfortable relationship with each student so that they feel they can trust me in a judgement-free zone.

I first started tutoring in mainly math and English during my freshman year of high school and have been progressing ever since. I worked with a small tutoring company that offered supplemental work and help to the students who needed it, as well as doing my own independent tutoring for students in my area.

Typically, I charge $20 for an hour. I'm willing to do longer lessons if the student would like, but I find that an hour is a good amount of time to be productive, but not overwhelming.

My older brother introduced me to the small tutoring program while in high school, and I grew within that program. From there, I realized I thoroughly enjoyed helping students learn and grow and decided to pursue different opportunities outside of that program with my students.

I have the most experience with elementary and middle school students in math and English, but I have worked with high school students in those subjects as well. The students I have worked with usually just need some extra instruction in addition to what they receive in class, as well as some learning and studying tips.

My best advice is to find a tutor that the student feels comfortable working with and talking to. It makes it much easier for both parties to be successful if there's no tension or awkwardness between them. I feel that it's important to find a teacher who the student clicks with in teaching style and personality.
