About
I have a Bachelor's degree in political science and a minor in history from The Ohio State Univeristy. I also completed pre-requisites for their integrated social studies education masters program before pursuing a different career path. I have experience working in government support and have seen how it functions first-hand.
I find social studies to be extremely enjoyable. To me, it is like a study of a giant, ongoing puzzle where all the pieces and events create a bigger picture.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
First I like to get to know the student a bit beyond the classroom to ensure the student is comfortable. I believe building a positive relationship will lead to better results as students are more trustworthy and engaged.
From there, it is imperative to get an idea of what the student is struggling with and where they are having success. We celebrate the success and use it as a confidence-builder. If a student can grasp some concepts, they have the potential to grasp them all and instilling that belief can trickle into their performance in other classes and elememnts of life.
