Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
Hello and welcome!
The process is simple- we have a short introductory phone call and trial session to make sure it is a good match for you, and then proceed from there.
Typical students meet about once a week, but can be arranged for more if needed.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have been a specialty teacher for over 10 years.
Teaching subjects from SAT prep, college essay assistance and general studies improvement, my students see results (and have a great time in the process!)
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
$30 per session (runs about 45 minutes)
How did you get started teaching?
I began my teaching career as a guitar instructor. From there, as I became proficient in various arts and subjects, I enjoyed sharing and enabling others to succeed as well.
What types of students have you worked with?
All ages, but in particular school age, ranging from 3rd grade to 12th grade and beyond
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Look for someone that can explain the results you hope to see to you
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
- what they are struggling with and in what ways they would like to improve
- in which settings have they enjoyed learning previously
