The educational philosophy of adult educators in institutions of higher learning is moving in a direction that focuses on the unique needs of the continuing learner. This position is based upon my own personal research and is commonly shared by various educators and administrators in the world of academia.

The educational institution and the instructor should facilitate the learning process and establish a comfortable environment through student involvement and ownership while the student goes through the transition from their present level to their desired level of competencies.
