I am a retired teacher with 25+years of experience teaching elementary special and general education classes. I specialize in helping children with dyslexia learn to read and comprehend increasingly difficult text. I currently tutor and care for kids with developmental disabilities. I love the variety of having multiple students and getting to know them and how they learn best. I am a native English speaker with my bachelor’s in anthropology from UNM, and I will be starting my master’s in the fall of 2024. I have known since I first coached a kid’s jiu jitsu class six years ago that I love teaching and working with children. As someone who has had a learning disability that is now graduating with a 4.2 GPA I know what it is like when you don’t learn like the other kids, and as someone who has studied abroad I know how hard it can be to catch up to the native speakers in a new country.
