I am a retired teacher having taught for 20 years. My last position of nine years was as a college Professional Tutor. I have tutored students of all skill levels and ages from elementary to adult including ESL and students with learning challenges. I pride myself on being flexible with my approach to supporting students. I believe all students want to be successful and it is my job to support each student to reach that goal. It is important to me to approach each student as an individual and to understand what a student needs to succeed. I use humor and laughter while tutoring but I am also demanding and set high expectations. I use the stu...

As a current graduate student working towards becoming a Massachusetts English teacher, I have a lot of background knowledge and experience working with students of all ages. I am also very flexible in my teaching style and have a variety of different strategies I can implement during tutoring sessions. One of the best feelings in the world comes from seeing someone make strides in their learning, whether big or small. This is what inspired me to begin a career in education. I love working with students of all ages and watching them grow & thrive.

I like Ryan because he is relatable. He is a good teacher but switches things up because he is still a young adult. I think hes able to teach me because hes still in touch with modern games and music. I find it fun even to learn from because its nice to be able to relate to a teaching figure. --- Kieran

Matt is wonderful. He is tutoring both of my elementary school children and they really like him a lot. He takes his time with the children and gives them both his full attention. As a working single mother, my schedule can be hectic. Matt is very flexible with his schedule and very accommodating with changes in my plans week to week and I truly appreciate that! I am excited to see how the kids will do this next grading period with Matt helping them, because I already see a little more confidence in their approach to schoolwork. I highly recommend Matt as a tutor, he's professional and a pleasure to work with.

I really enjoyed working with Mrs. O'Brien to complete my main college essay and additional writing supplements. We met weekly to continue revising my essays during the fall application season, which helped me spread out my work and drastically reduced my stress. Mrs. O'Brien helped launch my ideas, bringing out the best in me on paper. She easily and quickly related to my thoughts and feelings, always discovering how to best represent them through my writing. Overall, working with Mrs. O'Brien has been a pleasure. I have definitely improved my writing skills, which will be of much use to me in my future endeavors.
