Math was the subject I dreaded when I first started teaching. I used to believe that kids despised math and that teaching it would be a chore. Young students, on the other hand, adore math. Elementary school is very concrete, and teachers use a lot of hands-on materials to keep students interested in learning. As I progressed through the grades, I noticed that my students' enthusiasm for math waned. Hi my name is Ivy! I'd like to think I am a fun and caring person to be around. I work at an elementary school and along side all kinds of students in and out of the classroom. I work with special needs as well so I'm VERY patient and can find different ways to teach. I'm really good at reading/writing and math. But I can always help study for other subjects as well! I am great with K-8th graders.

I've always liked to learn and found fun ways to do so. Weather it be a funny song to help memorize facts or Doodle Notes to make studying easier on the eyes. I love to see what moment of proud excitement when it finally clicks for a kid.

I am currently a senior and highschool and plan on attending college this fall. I have taken all math up to calculus 2 along with physics 1 and 2 in the past couple of years and I enjoy helping others better understand the subject matter. I have a very flexible schedule and since I am new to this I am very open to any feedback. I have taught swim lessons before and enjoy seeing the confidence that comes with mastery in a new skill.
