Based in Saint Petersburg, Florida, Miles Smart Tutoring offers affordable educational and tutoring services. Our professional staff works with students of all ages individually or in groups.
With our assistance, you can excel in a variety of subjects. We motivate our students every step of the way to achieve academic success or career progress. We utilize the Socratic method to teaching, where we ask our students questions that will help them build the pathways to the correct solutions themselves, in order to further solidify the learning process for the long-term.
Our team attends ongoing training programs to ensure that we are qualified and equipped to help you with all of your unique needs.
Absolutely all of it! From the process of understanding the individual, to designing a lesson specifically geared towards that individual, all the way to the "Ah-hah!" moment when the student grasps the concepts, and the finally when seeing the immense pride on the student's face and in their voice when they see the true improvement in their scores from using our services. It's truly a joy to spread knowledge in the humanly way that it was meant to be spread from the very beginning of civilization.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
On the first session with a student, we will spend the first 10 minutes to get to know them as an individual, assess their current standing in the course, and design a plan of action to get the student from their current understanding to their desired understanding and beyond. Since each student is starting from a different place in life and has a completely unique learning style, we will adapt accordingly and customize the teaching process in order to suit those needs.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Perry Miles, founder and CEO of Miles Smart Tutoring Inc., is a certified teacher in Florida. He has over a decade of personal tutoring experience outside of his own professional pursuits in entrepreneurship, journalism and sports broadcasting. He ultimately left the industry because he wanted to help make a difference for students and aspiring young professionals.
All tutors of our organization must provide a resume, cover letter, photo, bio (to understand the interests of the student) and background check (we also conduct one). Many of the tutors on our staff have engineering, medical, and educational backgrounds. We only hire 2 out of every 10 tutors we interview based on our highly selective process.

The pricing system is based on the degree of difficulty of the subject and the hourly package that is purchased. Pricing is the same regardless of location (whether it is online or in-person)
What types of students have you worked with?
We have worked with (and continue to work with) all types of students ranging from elementary school through to the graduate school level.
We accept any and all students who want to be successful in any particular subject.
