I am a senior at the University of North Carolina at Asheville pursuing my Bachelors in Physics with minors in Astronomy and Mathematics. I have been a Peer Tutor for almost 2 years, and have been actively enhancing my knowledge in Physics, Astronomy, and Mathematics.

I enjoy seeing students understand what they thought they couldn't. Physics is a difficult topic, but I think it's also very impactful. Learning beyond what you think you are capable of is always hard, but once you get it it is so worth it. That's why I love tutoring, I genuinely enjoy helping people understand something they have a hard time with.

When Sarah worked with me, she was so patient, kind, and understanding. Understanding as in she understood exactly where I was confused (or understood how to get it out of me) and she was never judgmental. She is truly a safe space, and Ive heard that from multiple people that know them. Without her, I wouldve probably failed my physics class.

Plus, Sarah is one of the most passionate and dedicated physics tutors Ive ever dealt with. I had the pleasure of hearing a fraction of her deep space knowledge and she got me all existential. Im telling you, she will not disappoint.

Frequently asked questions

What is your typical process for working with a new student?

I prefer to have an initial meeting with prospective students to get some groundwork laid out on what goals need to be achieved, what areas need help, and how we want to approach the tutoring. Then we can work out the price and timing for sessions.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

I am an Astrophysics Major with a minor in Mathematics. I have finished all levels of Calculus, have taken Astrophyics 420, have taken multiple 300 and 400 level Physics and Mathematics courses, and have finished basic physics and programming courses.
