I am currently a college student and have enjoyed tutoring my fellow peers (both older and younger) for the past two years. High School material is relevant and fresh in my mind, and I took (and passed!) 6 different AP tests. However, I also have 4 younger siblings and enjoy working with younger students as well! Most importantly, I want my students to succeed. I love watching others reach their goals and would love to help in any way that I can!

I recently retired from teaching in elementary schools for 20 years. I have a B.S. in Business from Auburn University and a B.A. in Elementary Education from the University of Missouri-Kansas City. I have been continuing to study about how children learn to read and the science behind reading and love to teach children to read by using and teaching phonemic awareness, phonics, decodable books, songs, poems, and high-frequency words.

Over 30 years of teaching and tutoring experience, I have received a number of comments from students about how I have helped them to learn, and with their subsequent education and career. I have a bachelor's degree in mathematics, with a minor in Spanish. Also, I have a master's in reading. My experience is in public school, private school, and tutoring. I enjoy tutoring because it gives me the opportunity to get to know an individual, and their specific needs. I love math and the joy of seeing a student learn....

I truely enjoy working with students 1 on 1 or in a small group. It gives me a chance understand and work with students to help fill in the gaps of their understanding. I have 16+ years of experience working in the Kansas City metro area including multiple years in the urban core. I love working with students and focusing my attention on their indiviual needs.
