I am a 66 yr old grandma. I have helped my children and grandchildren learn to read. I loved reading when I was a child and now as a senior. I can help kids learn bowels, verbs, pronouns and etc...... I have a great sense of humor and use it to help students. Just being a boring tutor is no fun for anyone. My formal education ended many years ago. But it is hard to lose allergies you have learned. Especially if you enjoy reading.

I recently retired from teaching in elementary schools for 20 years. I have a B.S. in Business from Auburn University and a B.A. in Elementary Education from the University of Missouri-Kansas City. I have been continuing to study about how children learn to read and the science behind reading and love to teach children to read by using and teaching phonemic awareness, phonics, decodable books, songs, poems, and high-frequency words.
