What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I am trained in the Orton Gillingham method which is the only teaching method that is proven successful for students with Dyslexia or any reading disability. I strictly follow this method when working with my student yet also modifying the lesson for each individual students needs.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a B.S. in Elementary Education and A Masters in Curriculum and Instruction from the The University of St Thomas in St Paul Minnesota. I have been trained in levels 1- 4 through Orton Gillingham Reading Specialist in Minneapolis Minnesota.
In the past I had also taught 2nd grade for almost 13 years prior to being trained in the OG method. I have been tutoring students one on one for the past 10 years.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
My rates are $60 for an hour session.
For younger students (K-2) my rates are $30 for a half hour session.
I highly recommended, as does Orton Gillingham of Minnesota, two sessions a week.
