I'm a retired teacher with over 14 years of experience both in the classroom & tutoring. I've helped students of all ages with reading & enjoy working with all ages. Other subjects that I've tutored students in: elementary math, writing, study skills, homework support, & ACT prep in English, reading, & writing. My past employment had been in Robbinsdale ISD 281, Mpls (Pratt Community School), & just recently at Sylvan Learning in Maple Grove, Coon Rapids, & Minnetonka where I was the lead teacher. I also homeschooled my son through high school.
I love seeing students improve & enjoy reading as reading is so vitally important to every subject! Helping students overcome their individual struggles with whatever subject is very rewarding for me as well as having my students enjoy learning.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
First & primary is to get to know my student & how they feel about learning as well as what they feel they need help with. Next, simply working with them on area of need. Each student is an individual & has their own personalities, so knowing how they "click" enables me to vary their instruction.
