I am a newly retired elementary teacher. The more recent years I taught gifted & talented students in both reading and math in an everyday program. I have taught grades 1-6 throughout my career, but tend to choose grades 3- 6 as my expert level. I really enjoy kids. I love to learn and help others learn too. I work as a swim teacher helping kids learn to swim in a comfortable, supportive environment. I like to teach through explanation, demonstration, practice, and feedback to really solidify skills. I feel very comfortable teaching all ages, as I have experience with kids through work and nannying, as well as experience helping my peers throughout high school in difficult subjects. I volunteer at a local elementary school in my state that teaches Spanish Immersion! I have always loved to teach and learn. I know three languages as of now, and I only want to learn more. I don’t have my degree yet, but I will in about a month. I am minoring in Linguistics and Interpreting. I don’t currently have any certifications, but that will change very soon! I am excited to share what I have learned. Again, I work with Pre-K up til 5th grade. I also work as an interpreter for ASL and Spanish. I hope to be chosen to work with you.
