About
***We currently only offer online tutoring. Additionally, please select only one SoFlo tutor, as we incur costs for each tutor you choose.***
SoFlo Test Prep is a team of top-scoring tutors who provide exceptional SAT and ACT tutoring tailored to each student's strengths and weaknesses. We have even created our own digital platform for the SAT with over 40 practice exams. Our students who complete our program see their SAT scores rise by 200+ points and their ACT scores increase by 5+ points.
Who are we?
At SoFlo, our tutors scored in the top 1% on the SAT/ACT, come from top schools like Princeton and Georgetown, and are SAT/ACT experts. We have 5.0 ratings on Google, Yelp, and Thumbtack. Even before COVID, all of our tutoring was 1-on-1 over Zoom, so our entire program is built around online tutoring.
How are we so effective?
Our tutors use SoFlo's proven three-step method: assessment, strategy, and practice. Students start with our free diagnostic test, so we can gather data and build a study plan to target areas of weakness. Students will then meet 1-on-1 with a tutor to introduce SAT/ACT strategies, teach the fundamentals of the test, and review homework problems. We are constantly learning, training, and preparing our tutors for excellence. Our tutors are dedicated to their students and perfecting their skills.
What materials do we provide?
Diagnostic Test: Assess your child's strengths and weaknesses, determine specific topic areas to review.
Homework: 1-2 hours of homework per week, assignments are real SAT/ACT tests from the last several years. In class, we turn mistakes from homework into learning opportunities.
Online Modules: Access to real SAT/ACT tests with answers and explanation videos, tips and tricks specific to each section of the test, supplemental worksheets for students who want extra practice.
When are we available?
We are very flexible when it comes to scheduling. We will meet on days and times that fit your schedule. Because tutoring is 1-on-1 over Zoom, you can pick your time.
What is your pricing?
We offer our Test Prep services on a pay-as-you-go basis. Our Core price is $75/hour, and our Premium price is $100/hour. This price includes all diagnostic tests, homework, and online learning modules.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
The incoming student will complete a diagnostic assessment so we can assess their strengths and weaknesses in order to make a personalized growth strategy. This combo test helps us pinpoint the student’s weaknesses early so we don’t waste time covering topics they are comfortable with.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I scored a 1570/1600 on the SAT and went to an elite university. All of our tutors scored at least a 1500 on the SAT and our most recent hire graduated Cum Laude from Princeton.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
Our SAT Prep packages starts at $1,200 for 10 hours and if you don't like your first session you will receive a full refund. Each package comes with our 7 hour online course and a college counseling session and an hour or two of free tutoring.
How did you get started teaching?
I worked at College Experts, an SAT prep center, before the founder passed away. In 2020, SoFlo helped 2083 students raise their SAT/ACT score with 1-on-1 tutoring.
What types of students have you worked with?
We have worked with students from all over the country for both excellence and remediation. We teach all levels and put a lot of thought into the pairings between student and tutor to ensure there is student-tutor chemistry.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
A mother came to us in tears because her daughter scored an 11 on the ACT. She was embarrassed and ashamed, but we told her that everyone starts somewhere and we’d like to sit down with her daughter to see if we can help. After months of hard work and studying the daughter brought her ACT score up 11 points to a 22. Now she can qualify for an athletic scholarship at West Point. Life changing score increase.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Choose a tutor that you feel comfortable with. Student tutor chemistry is key to success. If the student likes their tutor, they are more likely to pay attention, more likely to do their homework, and more likely to improve their score.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
How have I been studying for the exam so far? What has worked and what has not? We do not want to repeat the same mistakes as a past tutor.
What exam dates should I be targeting? What is my goal score on those dates?
Between the SAT or ACT which exam is a better fit for my strengths as a test-taker?
