Written communication is the basis for success in any field. My years of teaching, writing, and editing have laid the groundwork for allowing me to share my skills with others. I enjoy the interaction with students and appreciate their openness to accepting guidance. I love to see students begin to enjoy the process of writing and to acknowledge their improved skills in their willingness to leap into language to articulate their ideas more coherently.

I am currently a Lecturer in Journalism & Screen Studies at the University of Michigan-Dearborn, and a Special Lecturer in the Cinema Studies program at Oakland University in Rochester. I began my college education at UM-Ann Arbor, but finished my B.A. - in Communication-Film Aesthetics & History - at Oakland University. I received my M.A. and Ph.D. - in Communication-Film Theory and Criticism - from Wayne State University. Nancy O’Neale is both a six-year certified teacher and author. She also has years of tutoring experience, including after school tutoring and tutoring students one-on-one who could not attend school. She earned her MA in Communications from Wayne State University, MA in Elementary Education from Grand Canyon University, and BA in Journalism and International Relations from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.

Troy High school and an Oakland University Alumni. I graduated from OU with a Bachelor's degree in Elementary education and an endorsement in Language Arts. Currently, I am a Michigan certified K-8 teacher. This marks my 5th year teaching K-2. Most recently, I taught Title 1 summer school at Morse Elementary. I have also worked with Arab refugees helping them overcome language barriers by offering conversation courses to students who are looking to pass the TOEFL and IELTS exams.

I am a certified tutor in reading for adults. I have experience with ESL as well as English speaking adults. I test learners and tutor at their learning and interest level taking as much time as the student needs.
