From the time I was 7 years old, I’ve wanted to be a teacher. I taught Sunday School all through high school. During that time, my parents opened our home to exchange students who were enrolled at the local community college and did not speak English. I spent 4 years helping them to decode their textbooks and enjoying every minute of it. I graduated from Elms College in 2001 with an BEd in Elementary Education and a BS in psychology. After teaching first grade at a Catholic School for 2 years, I enrolled at Westfield State College for my master’s in reading.
