Regina's Psychology, Writing, And ACT Prep Tutoring
About
I am a junior majoring in psychology at Boston University. I am passionate about helping students improve their understanding of subjects such as child development and essay writing. I have experience working one-on-one with students as a peer mentor, which has given me a unique perspective that will help me build rapport with older students. Currently, I offer tutoring to middle school, high school, and college students.
My tutoring philosophy is to be compassionate and flexible. We will work together to create a schedule and goals that meet your needs. Each session will be conducted at your own pace to ensure that you get as much out of our lessons as possible. I hope that our work together will help you feel more confident and prepared for your academic endeavors!

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
First, I like to get to know my student so I can find out about their interests and strengths. Once we have built some rapport, we can work together to create a list of goals for our tutoring sessions. We will evaluate these goals throughout our time together to make sure the sessions are meeting your needs. I ask that students come to sessions prepared with ideas on what they would like to work on.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Psychology - I am passionate about my education in psychology and I have taken a wide variety of courses within the field. This includes subjects such as developmental, social, and abnormal psychology. I am also currently working as a research assistant at a psychology lab, which has given me a strong understanding of the research methods and ethical guidelines that are standard in the field of psychology.
Writing - I obtained high scores on standardized tests that test knowledge in humanities-based subjects, including the ACT, AP English Language, and AP English Literature. My college courses have taught me valuable writing skills such as how to narrow down a research topic, how to structure an academic paper, and how to accurately cite sources using the MLA and APA methods. I also enjoy creative writing and reading in my free time!
Study Skills - I have taken special education courses that have taught me strategies for helping students manage their time and stay organized. I also have experience working directly with neurodivergent students, so I know how to tailor my tutoring techniques to my students' strengths and needs related to their diagnosis.
