Sarah Doyle South Shore Tutoring
About
I am in my 7th year of teaching elementary education. I have taught preK through 8th grade in various settings. Currently I am the lead teacher for my districts Language Based Learning Disabilites classroom for students with severe learning disabilities in grades 2-5. I am Orton-Gillingham certified and pride myself on my ability to teach students how to read and to love reading!
I love when kids have the 'lightbulb' moment. It is then that they take over the learning process and truly want to make progress for the sake of learning.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I begin all tutoring relationships with an assessment in the desired area of tutoring. This will look different for every student and may include learning profiles, interest inventories and academic assessments. This may take more than one session depending on the child’s stamina. After the assessment is complete, the parent/guardian will receive a brief summary of their child’s current performance level and recommended plan of instruction.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
-Bachelors of Science Degree in Elementary Education from Cedar Crest College
-Masters degree in Curriculum Development from Boston University
-Initial license certifying in Mild/Moderate disabilities K-8 in Massachusetts
-Orion Gillingham Certification from the Institute of Multisensory Education
