I have been a preschool teacher for over 30 years. I have worked with infant to 12 years old. I get pleasure seeing a young child learn. My mentality is the sky is the limit. I love helping a child reach his/her goals.

I love helping students learn and gain confidence! We will explore the problem, work as a team to solve it, and discuss ways to apply the solution to your work and in life. Many tasks in school seem to have very little, if any, connection to the real world, but it is often the process of finding the solution that is important. Let’s achieve that together!

Hi! My name is Laura Jackson. I have been a teacher for 25 years. I am currently teaching dyslexia instruction and reading intervention in grades 3-5. I am also certified in ESL (English as a Second Language) and have taught grades Kindergarten, 4th and 5th throughout my career. I have been a tutor after school for over ten years. I tutor in all subjects in grades 1st-5th. I love what I do and will continue helping children to grow academically with confidence as they progress in their education. I get to know each student and focus on what needs to be worked on to help the student be successful. Most of my students stay with me for 3 to 4 y

• I enjoy helping students understand what they read and how to translate it to the writing process. • I have been teaching for over 20 years in Ascension Parish. • I am a certified 1-8 teacher with a concentration in reading and writing. I have assisted in writing Benchmark Assessments for Ascension Parish. I have also written and received a grant to publish a short book.

I have experience with editing and revision, having worked with technical writing as well as traditional ELA standards. As a teacher I enjoy showing students how to read comprehend and discuss literature in ways that maybe they aren't used to in school.
