About
I am a former Teacher for Jefferson County Public Schools, Louisville, KY. I will tutor young Children and students who are functioning low in Reading and Writing skills. I will also tutor adults who need fundamentals in Reading and Writing. I will tutor from my home or I am willing to tutor in a public facility such as a Library. I am looking for part-time work and my days and hours are flexible.
I believe all students can learn and that each individual learns differently. I love working with young people and watching growth to take place in their problem areas, self-esteem and too become confident that they have the power to enhance and advance their learning.
I learn as I teach Children and I am exposed to my weaknesses and strengths. I also at times remenise about, if I had the same opportunities and advantages of getting that extra help, my desire for learning and achievements would have been so much better.
I love to be creative in teaching Children to love learning. Learning is not always easy but can be fun!

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I will assess each individual for strengths and weaknessess in the areas of writing and reading and devise instruction/curriclum to the meet their learning need and too build on that individuals strengths. For Preschoolers /Kindergarten, I will assess each child and devise instruction/ curriculum to enhance their ability to learn, to improve in areas learning such as Reading etc., and early Math concepts which are problematic and provide him/her with the necessary skills to advance to the next level.
