I'm Mrs. Leslie and I am passionate about explicitly teaching students the necessary skills to become excellent readers! I specialize in multisensory teaching of phonics & phonemeic awareness skills! I tutor online via zoom (remotely), part time.
I have been a reading interventionist in a school district for over 10 years (still currently).
I have a Bachelors degree in elementary education and English. I have also completed a 3 year practicum to teach multi sensory reading phonics skills to students with dyslexia and/reading difficulties.
I love working with students grades Kindergarten through 5th grade! I so enjoy helping students to truly understand how to read and the confidence that grows once they aquire useful strategies that are in their "learning toolbox"!! They can use the strategies I teach them all the time! I also enjoy seeing their love of reading grow, as they become more capable and self assured!

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
Brief meet and greet via zoom
Give reading diagnostic tests to determine area in which student is deficit in and it will show me where we need to begin our work together.
